Cyanotype Workshop with Bloemen & Blue 4th June 2026

£140.00

Join us for a full day of hands-on creativity and explore the beautiful, blue world of cyanotype printing. Using sunlight, natural materials, and simple non-toxic chemistry, you'll be creating your own unique portfolio of striking photographic blueprints, and leave with the skills to carry on creating at home.

You’ll learn how to make mix the solutions to prepare your own light sensitive paper then learn about arranging compositions and exposure to UV light.  Once your first print is rinsed to reveal its ethereal, dreamlike image you’ll be truly hooked. Drawing inspiration from the shapes and textures, of the coast, we’ll go on to experiment with toning, layering, and different surfaces to create work that reflects a connection to horizons and the sea.

Absolutely no experience is needed—just bring your curiosity as this workshop moves beyond the techniques ubiquitous with the cyanotype process and offers a real chance to discover new ways of working with light and shadow, and to push the boundaries of what cyanotype can be.

Homemade and, where possibly, locally sourced lunch and tea included.
Timings: 10am - 4pm
